Lamers Racing
began life as a single midget racing team out of Appleton, WI in 1993.
Since that time, our team has won a Badger Midget Championship, the 1998
and 2000 U.S.A.C. Sprint Car Championships, the 2003 National
Championship for GT-1 (Trans-Am) cars at Mid-Ohio and won the June
Sprints GT-1 races each of the last 5 years(2000 thru 2004).
National Championship Drivers have
included Cliff Ebben, Tony Elliott and Kevin Olson.
We also run a pretty good short track
stock car program featuring Jim Duchow in the Stumpf Ford Taurus since
1998. We actually won an F.R.R.C. Championship with Jim that was taken
away on a questionable technicality.
Denny Lamers also races along with Cliff
Ebben in National GT-1 cars when his time permits.
In 2004 we raced our first NASCAR Nextel
Cup race with Tony Ave driving a Lamers owned car at Watkins Glen, N.Y.
We finished 31st earning $53,000 for our first try ever. There will be
more efforts on the road race circuits and we plan on some circle track
action soon.
We have raced midgets, sprint cars, road
racing cars and stock cars and have won in all areas except the cup
race. We have raced against the best including Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon
and Ryan Newman in midgets and sprint cars and we have followed them all
to NASCAR.
Thanks to each and every sponsor and
particularly to Stumpf Ford and Competition Specialists. Thanks Guys!
