McMahon understands that any conflict or delay in construction results in increased costs to the contractor and, ultimately, the owner.  This is why we offer Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services to determine and avoid unnecessary utility conflicts.  This is a written project-specific work plan package that consists of review of existing data, obtaining precise horizontal utility locations and interpreting vertical locations from existing records, using surface geophysical methods to determine the horizontal and vertical position of utilities, and actual exposure of the utilities with global positioning systems (GPS) survey equipment to determine risk of conflict.  Our clients and utility companies have experienced substantial savings by incorporating SUE into the design as well as construction phases of various projects.
